I am a Salvadoran-Canadian Bitcoiner and co-host of Global Bitcoin Fest. I am a member of the over 3 million Salvadoran Diaspora who were forced to exile as political refugees in the 80s due to the civil war, or in the 90s due to gang violence and lack of employment and opportunities. As a group, our contribution to El Salvador accounts for over $6 Billion annually and as much as 23% of its GDP. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, and when not contributing to Bitcoin, I work for a Canadian insurance company as the Director of Customer Insights, trying to understand customers’ needs and consumer behaviour.
