North Korean hackers have made a phishing attempt on users of South Korean crypto exchange Upbit. The hackers reportedly sent out an email claiming that Upbit users needed to submit more information to become eligible for a prize drawing, then malware would activate when they opened it.
Per a blog post , the exchange announced that it will be implementing “significant” changes to its fundamental security infrastructure, including its two-factor authentication and withdrawal validation processes.
Unless cybersecurity becomes part of the fabric of blockchain and crypto with stakeholders taking it more seriously, it will take much longer for this amazing technology and currency to get the mass adoption that it deserves.
