Matt Smith, PMP is currently a Flight Commander in the US Air Force. He completed his undergraduate education at Loyola University Chicago in 2011 and completed his graduate level work in 2021. In 2012, Matt joined the Army National Guard and attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Benning, Ga. In 2014, he earned his commission through Officer Candidate School. Soon after, Matt completed Basic Officer Leadership Course at Fort Jackson, S.C. and was awarded the Distinguished Leadership Graduate Award. In 2018, Matt transferred to the Air Force. Since then he has been awarded the Company Grade Officer of the Year (2020) and Flight Commander of the Year (2021). Matt’s next assignment will be as an Associate Professor of Aerospace Studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Matt is married to his wife and they have 4 girls together. Three of which are triplets and were born on the 4th of July.
