Reviewing Bitcoin’s history of proposed privacy improvements can help us learn from the past and keep up with new improvements as we go.

Naumenko’s presentation on Erlay at ACM was a rare example of Bitcoin research being discussed at a conference not specifically related to blockchain tech.

BIP 324, proposed by Jonas Schnelli, is designed to protect Bitcoin peers against man-in-the-middle attacks using an action called a “handshake” to share keys more privately.

Bitcoin is not really private - but these projects are making significant improvements to Bitcoin privacy.

If it works, Dandelion could effectively neutralize the peer-to-peer analysis that plays a significant role in compromising user identity.
