update: As people have noted in the comments, this book is not available for Bitcoin on the O’Reilly site. Someone could buy a bunch and make the available as a temporary solution, or you can all email email@example.com and let them know they forgot to enable Bitcoin payments.
A few months ago, Andreas Antonopoulos set out to publish the über Bitcoin book. This book would thoroughly cover every aspect of the first cryptocurrency so there would be no questions left to ask.
He started by querying the Bitcoin community and asked them to fill in his outline here and asked to fill in any missing topics. Then also offered a survey to help him profile the potential readers of the book.
This book is now available for pre-order on the O’Reilly website. The 250 page book will sell for around $24 dollars for the ebook and $30 dollars for the print version. The ebook doesn’t have an estimated release date, but the print book should be available August of this year.
Mastering Bitcoin tells you everything you need to know about joining one of the most exciting revolutions since the invention of the web: digital money. Bitcoin is the first successful digital currency. It’s instant, global, frictionless and it is changing money forever. Bitcoin is still in its infancy, and yet it has already spawned an economy valued at nearly $2 billion that is growing exponentially. –Mastering Bitcoin
From the early outline, you can see Andreas will include topics for consumers, merchants, entrepreneurs, software developers, those interested in security, and those interested in Bitcoin’s future.
There is a nice discount available for purchasing multiple copies of the book if you desire to help your friends and family understand Bitcoin at their own pace.
The Bitcoin community has shown me that nothing can stop a group of people who are passionate in their beliefs. In our case, we believe everyone in the world deserves the right to financial freedom. My goal is to make sure everyone can see that this Bitcoin movement has the power to change the world for the better through every story we publish. Before working with Bitcoin Magazine I was involved in freelance writing, illustration, renders, making electronic music, and 3d print designs (http://www.behance.net/urbenz). I'm also a married dude and a father of 2 who loves to have fun with his family, cook, and travel. Contact me by shooting a message to: ruben [at] bitcoinmagazine.com
